Today, 5th graders in Mrs. Phillips' ELA class kicked off a new reading challenge where students will choose and read a book from the same book series. The goal is simple: read, discover, and fall in love with books! We’re hoping that finding a series they enjoy will encourage students to keep turning the pages, read more often, and discover just how much fun reading can be.
I can’t wait to see which series become their favorites!

Good afternoon Trojans,

Our highly anticipated match up against Miami Carol City High School is SOLD OUT!! Thank you for your support of our athletes and program. We are excited to welcome the Chiefs to Leesburg and look forward to an awesome night under the lights at Trojan Field. We are implementing some new safety precautions tonight and want to prepare you in advance. We are opening the gates early tonight and encourage fans to take advantage. We are also enforcing one way exiting from the main parking lot to Peach Street after the game. If you are picking up one of our high school aged non-drivers, please go to the front of the school (Hwy 32). Again, the game sold out online; there will be no tickets at the gates.

We appreciate your patience as we work to make this a safe and memorable experience for all of our fans. GO TROJANS!!!

🏈📚 Friday Football & Reading Fun! 📚🏈 Our Lee County football players stopped by today to spend some time reading with our students, and let’s just say… our students LOVE when the football players come to visit! 💙 We are so thankful for these young men who take time out of their busy schedules to be positive role models and share their love of reading with our students. What a special way to connect our school community! 🥰📖 Good luck to our Lee County football team tonight! 🏈💪 We’ll be cheering you on from the stands and right here at LCES! Go Trojans! 💙🤍

Today, students learned how to make inferences by using clues + background knowledge to solve a crime mystery. Turns out, Mrs. Harrell snuck into Mrs. Brown’s room and stole some of her snacks! (Security footage confirmed it😲)

Students did a great job at using the evidence to infer what happened and who did it. Shame on your Mrs. Harrell!!

Fifth graders brought their learning to life by acting out the events that began World War I. Teachers and students acted out creating the central and allied.

Rounding in Action!

Students in Mrs. Reed’s class were actively engaged in practicing their rounding skills today! After completing their independent practice, students were able to choose from a variety of activities to continue strengthening their skills. They could work with a partner on a fun rounding tic-tac-toe game, complete an around-the-room task card activity, or work on a rounding coloring activity.

We love seeing our students thinking, collaborating, and putting their math skills to work! ❤️➕✏️
