With nightfall approaching and temperatures reaching below freezing it will be imperative that you stay off of the roadways.

Today’s rain will turn into tonight’s ice and the roadways will be slick.

VPSO will have extra patrols during the nighttime hours to assist in emergencies.

Please stay home and off of area roadways unless travel is absolutely necessary.

**BEAUREGARD ELECTRIC (BECI) CUSTOMERS**

The biggest question in our service area right now is: Will Winter Storm Fern reach this far south?

At this time, only time will tell but rest assured, BECi is closely monitoring all reports and preparing for any outcome.
As with any major weather threat hurricanes, ice storms, and
more we take a proactive approach because Mother Nature always has the final say. For now, Fern is expected to impact the northern part of our system, but we are fully prepared should it shift farther south.

Ice remains our biggest concern. It can quickly weigh down trees and power lines. During previous ice storms, crews had to manually remove heavy ice buildup from lines in open areas, while fallen trees contributed to additional outages.

Our team has already taken important steps:
-Inspected equipment
-Increased on‑call crews
-Lined up contractors
-Identified high‑load areas to allow for backfeeding if needed

Please remember to check the outage map pinned to the top of our page or call 800‑367‑0275 to report outages. If outages become widespread, we’ll post regular updates here.
BECi members should prepare for the worst but hope for the best.
Always treat all downed lines as energized and keep a safe
distance. And don’t forget the 4 Ps: People, Pets, Plants, and Pipes.

We’ll get through this the same way we always do, together.
