**UPDATE** Silver Alert: Assistance Needed Locating DeRidder Man

UPDATE - The Silver Alert for 71-year-old Bobby Johnson has been canceled. He has been located and is safe. Please refer all inquiries about this case to the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office. Thank you for the assistance.

Beauregard Parish – The Louisiana State Police has issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office for 71-year-old Bobby Nathaniel Johnson. He was discovered missing from his residence on Mooney Street in DeRidder today at approximately 11:41 a.m. The Louisiana State Police received the request to issue a Silver Alert at approximately 2:12 p.m.

Johnson is a black male with brown eyes and gray hair. He is 5’9” and weighs approximately 160 pounds. Family reports that Johnson has a medical condition that may impair his judgment.

Johnson is believed to be driving a black 2003 Ford F-150 (Harley Davidson edition) bearing Texas license plate FNB6289.

Anyone with information regarding Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to immediately contact the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office at (337) 462-3281 or dial 911. All questions should be directed to the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office.

June 2, 2026

Shelby Lynn Howell, age 34, of Rosepine, was arrested and charged with one count of Identity Theft and one count of Exploitation of the Infirmed. Bond was set at $ 10,000.00. Howell remains in the VPSO jail.

Kole Maattala, age 17, of Leesville, was arrested and charged with one count of Theft over $ 1500.00. Bond was set at $ 5000.00. Maattala remains in the VPSO jail.

June 4, 2026

Michelle Coker, age 35, of Leesville, was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant and one out of Jurisdiction Bench Warrant. Bond has not been set and Coker remains in the VPSO jail.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Sheriff Sam Craft on being recognized with the “Spirit of Louisiana” Award on May 28, 2026, during a ceremony held in Bossier City. The award was presented by U.S. House Speaker and Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson.

This award reflects Sheriff Craft’s continued dedication, leadership, and service to the citizens of Vernon Parish and the State of Louisiana.

Karhaunie Nekole Thompson, age 20, of Leesville, was arrested and charged with one count of Disturbing the Peace / Drunkenness. Bond was set at $ 881.00. Thompson posted bond and was released.

Henry Reeves, age 62, of Pitkin, was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Trespass. Bond was set at $1295.00. Reeves remains in the VPSO jail.

Kristopher Glaze, age 33, of Leesville, was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment. Bond was set at $100,000.00. Glaze remains in the VPSO jail.
