We Light the Night in honor of the courageous firefighters who gave their lives in the line of duty, including two of our own: Chief Chad Satcher and Firefighter Landon Cale Bodie. Your love, light, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who love you.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) invites us all to take part in Light the Night by lighting homes, landmarks, and fire departments in red from April 27 to May 4, 2025.

Join us this Saturday, March 15th from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm as we come together to honor the fallen firefighters of Saluda County and raise funds for critical response and safety equipment for the Saluda Fire Department.

On September 27, 2024, we tragically lost two brave firefighters, Chad Satcher and Landon Bodie. This event is our way of remembering them and supporting those who continue to serve.

ALL funds raised will go directly to the firefighters! Bring the family for a fun-filled day with firetrucks on site for kids to explore, a bouncy house for the little ones, and meeting the brave firefighters who risk their lives daily.

Help us “Fill the Boots” and show appreciation for our local heroes. Let’s come together as a community to give back!❤️🔥

Our community and fire department suffered a profound loss with the passing of Chief Chad Satcher and Firefighter Landon Cale Bodie, who made the ultimate sacrifice during Hurricane Helene.

In their honor, the 9/11 Remembrance Foundation of South Carolina is hosting a benefit concert and oyster roast on Saturday, March 22, in Saluda to raise funds for essential equipment needed for the replacement firetruck lost on September 27. A special thank you to State Farm - Kelly White Agency for sponsoring a wonderful evening of fellowship with our brothers and sisters of the Saluda County Fire Service, celebrating exceptional service and resilience. Chad Satcher was honored as Saluda County Fire Officer of the Year, a testament to his dedication, with his family accepting the award in his memory. Landon Cale Bodie’s memory will live on through his Rookie of the Year award that his family accepted on his behalf. Evan Antley’s commitment earned him Saluda County Firefighter of the Year, while Austin Rodgers received special recognition for his inspiring leadership during the difficult days following the loss of Chad and Cale. Our fire family is forever family, and we are forever grateful for the unwavering support that we continue to receive.
