Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District

Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District Welcome to the official page of the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District!

The District was established in 1963 with volunteers and a single fire engine stationed under a canopy on Homestead Road. After providing volunteer firefighting services for 13 years, the District began hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to operate one ambulance in 1976, which was funded through community support. In 1981, the District realized Advanced Life Support (ALS) was essential an

d added paramedic services. As a result, the name was changed to Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District, which is one of only two ALS transport services in Lee County. Firefighting and ALS services are responsible for preserving life and property in an area of 142 square miles with a population of 135,000+ citizens.

Training never stops. Our crews sharpened their vehicle extrication skills through hands-on training designed to prepare for real-world emergencies. πŸš’πŸ› οΈ

From patient access and stabilization to safe and efficient removal techniques, these exercises help ensure we’re ready when seconds matter most. We’re proud of the dedication our crews show in continually advancing their skills to better serve our community.

Thank you to J & W Towing for their continued support of our training efforts by providing vehicles and space for these valuable training opportunities.

πŸ”₯ The Lee County Burn Ban has been lifted effective May 27, 2026.

As residents resume outdoor burning activities, we encourage everyone to use caution and follow safe burning practices. Even with the burn ban lifted, fires can still start and spread quickly.

πŸš’πŸ”₯ Future firefighters in action!

One of the best parts of our Lehigh Acres Fire Control & Rescue District Cadet Program is that cadets don’t just learn about the fire service, they get to experience it firsthand. Through hands-on training and mentorship from our firefighters, cadets are constantly building real-world skills and gaining valuable insight into emergency services. πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’

If you know a young adult interested in firefighting, leadership, teamwork, and hands-on experience, our Cadet Program is an incredible opportunity! πŸ’ͺ

πŸŽ‰πŸš’Celebrating the Heroes Among Us! πŸš‘πŸŽ‰

As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to give a HUGE thank you to our incredible firefighters/EMTs who work tirelessly to keep our community safe every single day! ❀️

At Lehigh Acres Fire Control & Rescue District, all of our firefighters are also EMTs, which makes EMS Week especially meaningful to our department. Every day, our crews respond not only to fires and emergencies, but also provide critical emergency medical care to our community when it matters most. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving others truly make a difference. πŸ‘

Each day this week, our crews were treated to lunch by the team at HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital, and we are incredibly grateful for their support and appreciation! πŸ₯ͺπŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ

Thank you to all EMS professionals for everything you do. Your hard work and sacrifice do not go unnoticed!
