The quote "the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force" (Matthew 11:12) is one of the most debated and discussed passages in the New Testament. Rather than endorsing literal physical violence or aggression, theologians generally interpret this verse in one of two distinct ways:Eager and Relentless Pursuit: Many scholars interpret "the violent" as those who are eagerly, passionately, and forcefully pressing into God's presence. It is seen as an encouragement to seek the Kingdom with absolute determination, breaking through personal, cultural, or spiritual barriers.Overcoming Spiritual Opposition: Others view the violence as a description of spiritual warfare. Because the Kingdom of God advances into a fallen world, believers are called to stand firm, push back against spiritual forces of darkness, and claim the spiritual victories Christ has made possible.

To truly have God as our anchor is to remain grounded when the storms of life try to pull us apart. An anchor does not stop the waves, the wind, or the trials—but it keeps the ship from drifting into destruction. In the same way, God does not promise a life without battles, but He promises His presence, His strength, and His peace through every storm.

When God is our anchor, our faith is not built on emotions, opinions, money, status, or the approval of people. It is built on something eternal and unshakable. Even when life becomes uncertain, painful, or confusing, we remain secure because our hope is rooted in Him.

God as our anchor means trusting Him when we cannot see the way forward. It means standing firm when fear tries to overtake us. It means believing that His purpose is greater than our pain and His promises are stronger than our problems.

An anchored soul is not a perfect soul—it is a surrendered soul. A soul that says:
“Lord, even in the middle of the storm, I will not drift away from You.” The world may shake.
People may fail.
Circumstances may change.
But God remains faithful forever.

For when God is your anchor, your life is not controlled by the storm around you, but by the Savior within you. In kingdom service Pastor Pete Marrero.

I feel to share this again. We can’t change our past—especially the moments when we allowed pride and ego to speak louder than love, pushing away those we should have embraced and valued. But we can choose what our present is now so that it will reflect a better tomorrow.

My desire is that my life and for others to
no longer be shaped by distance, offense, or self-centeredness, but by the grace we have received and the mercy that we are called to extend. Just as we have been forgiven for our trespasses, we must also learn to forgive those who have trespassed against us. Healing begins where humility takes the place of pride, and restoration begins where love overcomes ego.

As it is written in Holy Bible, Jesus teaches:

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:37–39, NIV)
So I choose and pray for all others today to align our hearts with that truth—to love God fully, and to love others honestly, even when it requires humility, reconciliation, and letting go of what once held me back. I pray if not all who I have let down to look at me now and others don’t judge me by my past or anyone else’s but t by the fruit I show now as I will do the same for others.
