Congratulations to all the candidates—on both sides of the aisle—who stepped up, participated in the political process, and will now move forward to the General Election.

Regardless of political affiliation, this journey takes courage, sacrifice, and a genuine commitment to serving others. I have respect for anyone willing to put themselves before the voters and accept the responsibility and scrutiny that come with seeking public office, when their intentions are sincere.

As you move forward, I encourage you to stay committed to people—not politics. Leadership requires more than winning an election; it requires competence and expertise, integrity, humility, courage, and the willingness to listen. Remember why you started and whom you are seeking to serve. The road ahead is still long, and the people deserve leaders who will put their needs ahead of political agendas, personal interests, and partisan pressure.

My own race did not end the way I had hoped, but my commitment to this community did not end when the polls closed. I will continue to advocate, remain engaged, ask tough questions, and stand up for the issues and people I fought for throughout this campaign. A title was never required for me to serve, and an election result will not stop me from doing so.

There will always be competing interests, pressures, and difficult choices in public service. But when those moments come, I hope you choose what is right—not simply what is politically convenient. Choose the people. Choose integrity. Choose fairness. Choose what benefits ALL people—not just a select few.

Our communities are made up of people from every nationality, every culture, and every region of the world—people who have chosen to live here, build their lives here, raise their families here, contribute to our communities, and love this great country. Every one of them deserves to be seen, heard, respected, and represented.

Public service should never be about where someone came from, what language they speak, what neighborhood they live in, or which side of the political aisle they stand on. It should be about recognizing our shared humanity and working to make our communities better for ALL who call this country home.

May you have the courage to listen, the knowledge to respond, the wisdom to do what is right, and the humility to remember who you are ultimately serving.

That is my genuine hope for every candidate moving forward. May you represent ALL of the people, serve ALL of the people, and never forget that the people come first.

The campaign may have ended, but the work continues.

51% of Lee County students are Hispanic. Let that number sink in.

That’s more than 52,000 students — and the Hispanic student population has grown dramatically in just a few years.

But while the population is growing, the resources intended to support these students and their families are moving in the opposite direction.

The district’s proposed budget shows significant reductions in ESOL and English-learner funding — including a 52% reduction in Title III funding.

And according to the district’s own ESOL information, just one Spanish-speaking Parent Engagement Specialist serves families across the entire county. Just one person.

When more than half of our students come from Hispanic families, language access and meaningful parent engagement cannot be an afterthought.

Our budget should reflect the students we actually serve.

As your next District 5 School Board member, I will continue asking the question I’ve asked throughout this campaign:
Are we putting our resources where our students and families need them most?

Because representation isn’t just about who’s sitting at the table. It’s about whether families can access the table in the first place.

Students first. Every decision. Every dollar. Every time.

Vote! Votar!

Last night, I spoke on behalf of every teacher who is being asked to do more with less, and every student who deserves a classroom equipped for success — not survival.

A balanced budget means very little if teachers are asking the community for basic necessities while classrooms lose educators.

Our priorities must match our promises.
The cycle must end.

Early voting: Aug 8-15
Election Day: Aug 18
