🚧 ROAD WORK ALERT — TAR & CHIP 🚧

Franklin Township will be completing tar and chip road work beginning September 4, 2026, and continuing into next week.

📍 Roads affected:
• Pohopoco Drive
• Indian Hill Road
• Overlook Drive
• Reber Street
• Pine Drive

Please watch for road crews, equipment, loose stone, and changing road conditions. Slow down and give our crews plenty of room to work!

♻️ FRIENDLY REMINDER! ♻️

The Franklin Township Recycling Center is open tomorrow, Saturday, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM! 🌎💚

🎉 Starting September 3rd — NEXT WEEK! — we will begin accepting #1 and #2 plastics! 🥳

🧴 What are #1 and #2 plastics?
Look for the recycling number inside the triangle on the bottom of your plastic container:
• #1 – PET/PETE: Water bottles, soda bottles, juice bottles, and many food containers
• #2 – HDPE: Milk jugs, detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, and other sturdy plastic containers

🚫 Please remember: Plastic bags are NOT accepted at the Franklin Township Recycling Center. But don’t throw those bags away! Plastic bags can be recycled at participating retailers, including Giant and Cindy’s Deli.

📦 Cardboard REMINDER:
Cardboard must be corrugated cardboard, meaning it has a fluted (wavy) layer sandwiched between two flat layers of cardboard. This is the type commonly used for shipping boxes, moving boxes, and many sturdy packing boxes.

Please break down/flatten your cardboard boxes before bringing them to the center. 📦♻️

♻️ EXCITING NEWS FOR FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP RECYCLING! ♻️

As announced last night at the Monthly Supervisors Meeting, the Franklin Township Drop-Off Recycling Center is excited to announce that we will now be accepting Plastic #1 and Plastic #2 starting September 3rd!🎉

🥤 What does that mean?

Look at the recycling symbol on your plastic container. If you see:

♻️ #1 – PET/PETE
Commonly found on:

Water bottles
Soda bottles
Juice bottles
Sports drink bottles
Some food containers

♻️ #2 – HDPE
Commonly found on:

Milk jugs
Laundry detergent bottles
Shampoo and conditioner bottles
Body wash bottles
Some household cleaning product containers
Other rigid plastic containers marked #2

✅ Please remember: Plastic containers should be empty and rinsed out before bringing them to the Drop-Off Center.

🚫 What about plastic bags?

Although plastic bags are technically plastic, plastic bags are NOT included in the #1 and #2 plastics we are accepting.

If you bring your recyclables in a plastic bag, please do not place the bag in the recycling container. You may either:

Take the bag back with you after emptying your recyclables, OR
Leave the bag with us, and we will place it separately for proper handling.

🚨🚧 ROAD CLOSED – OVERLOOK DRIVE 🚧🚨

The Franklin Township Road Crew will be working on Overlook Drive today.

Overlook Drive will be closed to through traffic while work is being completed. Residents will still be able to get through and access their homes.

Please slow down, use caution, and watch for road crew members and equipment in the area.
