CALLING ALL ROCKSTARS! CALLING ALL ROCKSTARS!!

Are you a "holiday giving" kind of Rockstar? We've been fortunate to meet many of you in years past and we hope to see you again this year on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM!

Sponsored by Walmart, Leicester Police officers, who are the sworn members of the Leicester Police Alliance, are volunteering their time to collect toys for local Leicester families in need!

Will you help us give local children a brighter holiday this year?

We'll be at the Leicester Walmart located at 20 Soojian Drive to accept your generous donation of a new unwrapped toy (or a cash donation to those inclined in our locked donation box which will be on our table). Cash donations will be converted into presents and donated in the same manner. Thank you!!!

The Leicester Police Union would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who came out for last night's special election, as well as everyone who helped spread the word on this important issue. With your help, Leicester overwhelmingly stated its desire to leave civil service behind. This was a great decision for our officers, the department, and the town as a whole. Thank you for your support!

We really need your help TODAY at the polls!!! WE NEED YES VOTES! Please read below!

Today is a special election with only ONE QUESTION on the ballot.

Polls are open (Leicester town hall) from 12P to 8P and 8 jobs are on the line. A YES VOTE has no negative taxpayer impact and maintains the current headcount. Furthermore, leaving civil service will SAVE tens of thousands in taxpayer money.

All 8 officers hired after 2023 NEED A YES VOTE on the ONE AND ONLY BALLOT QUESTION!

✅ WHAT WE NEED:
A "YES" vote will support the repeal of Civil Service for police officer positions and allow Leicester to recruit and promote officers under their existing protocol. WE SUPPORT THIS!

❌ WHAT WE DON'T WANT:
A "No" vote will not support the repeal of Civil Service for police officer positions and require hiring/promoting be done from a state-compiled list. WE DON'T SUPPORT THIS!!!

Please help by coming out and vote YES. This will be a relatively small turnout and EVERY VOTE MAKES A DIFFERENCE and it will be the difference between 8 solid dedicated Leicester cops losing their jobs AND will certainly cost taxpayers in OT pay to cover the cost of shift coverage over the long run.

Thanks!!

The Leicester Police Alliance is requesting your help in voting YES at the Special Town Election on October 28, 2025.

Civil Service is a 140-year-old system that has been a disastrous failure for decades. Many cities and towns across the state have abandoned civil service in recent years after realizing that it was a major obstacle to efficiently hiring and managing their emergency personnel. Locally, Leicester has enjoyed great success without civil service, but the state is trying to force us back under their thumb. Through this ballot measure, we are reaffirming our prior Town Meeting votes and can put civil service behind us once and for all. Leicester Police Department

The Leicester Police Alliance would like to express our deepest gratitude for the highly successful fundraising event that was held on Saturday 10/4 to support the Leicester Police Officers Assistance Fund. While there are too many people to name everyone individually, we would like to take a moment to thank Doug Belanger for organizing and hosting the event and the many other town employees and elected officials who volunteered to make it a success. We also want to thank the American Legion along with all of the businesses and individuals who contributed raffle prizes or donated their services. Lastly, we want to thank each and every person who came out to show their support or otherwise donated to this important cause. Seeing this level of community involvement is a reminder of what makes Leicester such a great town!

The Leicester Police Alliance, on behalf of the officers and supervisors of the Leicester Police Department, strongly encourages a "Yes" vote at the October 28th special town election.

Town Meeting has already voted twice to remove these positions from Civil Service, but the politicians and state administrators think they know better than you as to what is best for our community. They are trying to bully Leicester into being dependent on a process that has failed us for decades. By passing this ballot vote, we are preserving our right to local self-governance.

Under Civil Service, Leicester found it nearly impossible to hire even inexperienced police officers, leaving vacancies for months or years on end while we waited for permission from Boston just to protect our community. Outside of Civil Service, we have been able to attract and quickly hire experienced police officers, who have brought a diverse set of skills to the department. This resulted in the immediate implementation of our first ever K9 program, the much-needed expansion of our Detective Bureau, and the revival of a Motor Unit. Most importantly, it filled 10 patrol vacancies in record time, all the while saving the Town hundreds of thousands of dollars in training costs. All of this could be lost unless we vote "Yes" to solidify the future of the LPD.

The crowdshare fundraising effort is LIVE!

If you're willing to help contribute to these officers' recovery efforts, we, the sworn police officers of the Leicester Police Department, have set up an account with Zeffy at the following URL:

https://www.zeffy.com/donation-form/help-injured-lpd-officers-in-their-time-of-need

Zeffy is a crowdsharing platform similar to others, such as go-fund me, however they transparently show their OPTIONAL fee in a drop down menu under the generous amount you choose.

An alternative to this, for those who would prefer, you can donate by check (preferably) made payable to the "Leicester Police Officer Assistance Fund" and mail it to us at Leicester Police Department, C/O LPO Assistance Fund, 90 South Main Street, Leicester, Massachusetts 01524.

Without exception, 100% of all funds donated to this fund go directly to the two involved officers, Eddie & Stephen. This fund, the Leicester Police Alliance and the off-duty Leicester police officers who administer it are volunteers who receive no salary, stipend or any other form of compensation for their time with this or any other union/alliance duties.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!
