American Legion Auxiliary Unit 81 We are a non-profit ladies organization that supports our Veterans!! Our monthly meetings are the second Wednesday of the month. We have a dinner at 4:30 pm cst.

We would love to have you come out and join us. and the meetings begin at 6 pm cst. We are a non-profit ladies organization that supports our Veterans. We meet the second Wednesday of every month. National Poppy Day is May 22nd 2026 this year. We will be set up outside IGA in Leitchfield Saturday the 23rd collecting donations for the Poppy’s and veteran programs. We will have a basket of poppies on hand.

The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. It reminds Americans of the sacrifices made by our veterans while protecting our freedoms. On Sept. 27, 1920, the poppy became the official flower of the American Legion Family to memorialize the soldiers who fought and died during the war. In 1924, the distribution of poppies became a national program of The American Legion.
