Leland, you sure know how to hold on to that feelin'! πŸŽΆπŸŽ€πŸ’™

Thank you to everyone who joined us Thursday evening for DEPARTURE: The Journey Tribute Band at Founders Park! We loved seeing the lawn filled with neighbors, families, lawn chairs, and plenty of folks singing along to their favorite Journey songs.

And Live in Leland isn't done yet! Next up, we're trading rock anthems for a few timeless tales as the Brunswick Arts Council presents Aesop's Fables on Friday, Aug. 21.

The free performance begins at 6 p.m. at the Founders Park amphitheater, so bring a chair or blanket and come enjoy another evening with us at the park.

Thanks for singing along, Leland. Now get ready for story time! πŸ’πŸ†šπŸ‡

Even the dragonflies are taking it easy the rest of this week. πŸ₯΅

Leland, with temperatures in the 90s and heat index values climbing above 100Β°, the next few days are going to be hot, humid, and downright sticky.

If you'll be spending time outdoors, remember to:

β€’ Drink plenty of water. Like, so much water.
β€’ Take frequent breaks in the shade or in air conditioning
β€’ Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
β€’ Save strenuous activities for the early morning or evening whenever possible
β€’ Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke
β€’ Check on neighbors, friends, and family members who may be more vulnerable to the heat

Take a page from our little friend here and find a cool spot whenever you can.

Stay safe, Leland. πŸ’™

We don't always set the trends, but caring about what comes next for Leland’s parks is pretty hot right now! 🌳

The Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan community survey is still open, and if you live within Town limits, we’d love to hear what you think before it closes Sept. 14.

Your feedback will help guide future decisions about parks, trails, open space, recreation programs, and other amenities across Leland.

A few minutes of your time now can help guide years of park planning.

The certification qualifies him to inspect stormwater systems and recommend needed maintenance, helping ensure they continue working properly throughout Leland.

Our Grounds crew rolled up their sleeves, grabbed some bags, and made quick work of it.
