The 2026 Boss Cowman Parade theme:

Join us as we celebrate America 250 with hometown pride, prairie spirit, cowboys, cowgirls, and the freedoms that helped shape our nation and our communities. We canā€™t wait to see creative floats, patriotic decorations, western flair, and red, white, and blue filling the streets of Lemmon on July 11th, 2026!

Friday Story Time was all about celebrating May Day and spring.

We read stories about gardening and other springtime activities, then got to work making May Day baskets to share. Our library friends delivered them to our neighbors across the street.

A special thank you to library friends for taking baskets up to the nursing home to brighten the residentsā€™ days. We love seeing big hearts in our library!

We had a great time at the library on Friday with Aspen from NDSU Extension bringing us a hands-on STEM project!

Kids got creative designing and building their very own ā€œcars,ā€ then put them to the test to see how well they could scoot across the table. Then, she showed us how to make one that really zoomed!

Thank you, Aspen, for helping us explore, build, and learn through play. We love seeing STEM in action at the library!

A huge THANK YOU to my library friends for allowing me to be away from the Lemmon Public Library on Friday to attend the Black Hills Mini Conference in Rapid City! šŸ“šāœØ

It was a fantastic day of connecting with librarians, and sharing ideas. We stayed until the coffee ran out. Opportunities like this help me bring fresh inspiration back to the library! See you all again on Monday.

It was a fantastic week at the libraryā€¦last week!

We had with board training on Saturday led by Dacia from SDSU Extension. Itā€™s great to learn, grow, and strengthen what we do for our community. Thanks to all our participants.

We reused plastic Easter eggs to make colorful maracas for Story Time on Friday. The fun kept rolling with Miss Shane bringing her board games. And one of my favorite artists added beauty to the childrenā€™s area white board. Itā€™s a temporary art installation. We love seeing our library filled with learning, creativity, and community spirit all in one week!

It's National Library Week.

Our kids shared their library joy, and the clear winner this year? Our football! šŸˆ Itā€™s been getting a lot of love and use outside, and we couldnā€™t be happier to see kids enjoying both books and play.

In honor of Earth Day, we rolled up our sleeves and took care of our outdoor space cleaning up around the library, sprucing up the sound garden out back, and even tackling the stinky outside trash can. We didnā€™t snap a picture, but you can probably imagine how that went/smelled!

Thank YOU library friends for all the library joy you bring to our space each day!
