This is the official page of the North Union Township Volunteer Fire Department, located in Lemont Furnace, PA. In 1960, a group of civic-minded men recognized the growing needs of North Union Township and took the initiative to establish a fire department to serve the community. At the time, the township was experiencing steady growth with new homes, expanding industry, and an increasing populati
on in need of reliable fire protection. With a vision for the future and a commitment to public safety, these founding members recruited others to join their cause. Through the combined efforts of dedicated volunteers and the continued support of township residents, the department was built from the ground up and has grown into a vital organization serving the community to this day. As the fire service has evolved, so too has the department. Advancements in training, equipment, safety standards, and emergency response practices have required continuous growth and adaptation. The department has embraced these changes by expanding its capabilities, enhancing member training, modernizing apparatus and technology, and remaining committed to meeting the ever-changing demands of emergency services. This ongoing progress ensures that the department is prepared not only for the challenges of today, but for the needs of the future.
