🎉 Congratulations to Sarah Swafford, Liberty Middle School’s new Learning Coordinator!

The LUESD Board of Trustees approved Sarah’s appointment at the June 9, 2026, Board meeting.

Sarah has served LUESD for the past ten years, with experience teaching at Liberty Middle School, including 8th grade English, and most recently serving as the Instructional Resource Teacher at Engvall Elementary School. In that role, she coached teachers and strengthened instructional practices to support student learning and staff development.

Sarah brings expertise in curriculum, assessment, and effective teaching, along with experience supporting both elementary and middle school students. Her commitment to continuous improvement and student success will be a valuable addition to Liberty’s leadership team.

🎉 Congratulations to Mrs. Amy Garcia, LUESD’s new Director of Human Resources!

The LUESD Board of Trustees approved Mrs. Garcia’s appointment at the August 11 Board meeting, marking an exciting new chapter in her service to our district.

Mrs. Garcia has served LUESD since 2000, bringing extensive experience in Human Resources, credentialing, and employee support. Most recently, as Administrative Assistant for Human Resources, she supported recruitment, onboarding, benefits, credential compliance, and personnel operations.

Known for her professionalism, integrity, and outstanding customer service, Mrs. Garcia has built strong relationships with staff and a deep understanding of our district. Her dedication to supporting employees will continue to serve LUESD well in this new leadership role.

SUN Bucks provides summer food benefits to eligible children. Some students may qualify automatically through CalFresh, CalWORKs, or certain Medi-Cal benefits. However, receiving free school meals does not automatically guarantee eligibility.

If you are unsure whether your child qualifies automatically, we encourage you to complete a Universal Benefits Application.

A look back at the wonderful way we began the 2026–2027 school year! 🍎📚
On Wednesday, August 5, LUESD staff gathered for our annual Welcome Back Breakfast—a morning filled with smiles, connection, and excitement for the year ahead. We were honored to welcome keynote speaker Nathaniel Provencio, who helped inspire and prepare our team for another extraordinary year of serving students.

Our staff returned to school on August 10 and have already been hard at work creating welcoming classrooms, building relationships, and supporting our students and families.
