Landowners who are members of the Kings River Water Quality Coalition, have the ability to streamline well registration using their member portal to share contact information and other data, such as crop, parcel, and management practices with the South Fork Kings GSA portal.

Sustainable Yield: This is the long-term base allocation that will keep the basin in a stabilized condition after 2040.

Transitional Allocation: This is a temporary, declining buffer designed to allow landowners with existing irrigated lands to gradually reduce their pumping. Transitional water is allocated in five-year blocks and will decrease to zero by 2040.

A groundwater allocation is the amount of groundwater you are allowed to pump to help maintain the Subbasin in a sustainable condition by 2040. The Sustainable Yield Allocation is based on the total acres for your parcel as registered with Kings County. For the SFK GSA, the sustainable yield has been calculated at 0.86 acre-feet per acre (AF/ac).

South Fork Kings Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) has partnered with MLJ Environmental to develop an online platform and procedure to register all wells within the GSA, which can be found at watermark.mljenvironmental.com.

The portal currently allows users to register existing wells within the boundaries of the South Fork Kings, North Fork Kings, Mid Kings River and El Rico GSAs and view Land IQ data for registered parcels in South Fork Kings and North Fork Kings GSAs.

On April 30th, SFK GSA held a Grower Meeting at the Lemoore City Chambers to inform and update growers on the current status of SGMA in the subbasin.
