During the campaign, Lena officers will conduct additional traffic enforcement throughout the community with a focus on seat belt compliance during both daytime and nighttime hours.

Statewide seat belt usage reached 93% in 2025, but serious and fatal crashes involving unrestrained occupants continue to occur, especially during nighttime driving hours.

The “Click It or Ticket” campaign is funded with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Update: Storm Damage Clean Up

As our community continues recovering from the recent tornado, we want to thank everyone for their patience and support over the last 4 weeks. Our Streets Department has worked incredibly hard to clean up storm debris, fallen trees, and damaged brush throughout town.

⚫️Beginning immediately, we will be returning to our normal limited brush pick up scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.

⚫️Additionally, the Village will no longer be providing public dumpsters for storm debris disposal. Any dumpsters currently located around town or at the Streets Department are privately contracted and are not for public use.

Thank you again to our residents, volunteers, and staff for working together during this cleanup effort!
