The Shadow Buddies Foundation

The Shadow Buddies Foundation We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children cope with illnesses.

Hospitalization can be a frightening and lonely experience for a child. Our Shadow Buddies are designed to be a friend "just like me," allowing children to feel like there is a friend who understands his or her condition. Our buddies are soft and comforting, and each buddy is specifically designed to be a teaching tool, too--many of our buddies assist medical professionals in helping children understand their prognosis and treatment.

Meet Mallory Smith, our amazing Program Coordinator at Shadow Buddies Foundation.

After 18 years as a nurse, Mallory made the transition over a year ago to join the Foundation and help Marty continue the mission of bringing comfort and hope to children and families. She is one of Miles Postlethwait’s older sisters and Marty’s daughter.

Mallory is married, a proud mom to three beautiful girls (17, 9, and 7), and has two dogs. She loves giving back to children and families in our community while spreading positivity wherever she goes. 💛

We are so grateful for all Mallory does to help make the Shadow Buddies mission possible each day!

Grab your paddle and come out for an evening of friendly competition, great food, and community fun at Chicken N Pickle Overland Park — all while supporting the mission of Shadow Buddies Foundation. 💛

• 155 Participants
• 20 Volunteers
• Over $100,000 raised

Because of YOU, we are able to continue supporting children and families through the mission of Shadow Buddies Foundation. Every team, volunteer, and donor played a part in making this event such a success.
