Story Time! We had our first story time for the season last Friday. The kids did songs with scarfs, listened to stories, and made alligator crafts! Join us for our next story time on September 18 at 10AM here in the library.

Library Happenings Week of 8/31 -

Don't forget that we have State Fair Passes for kids ages 6-15. Stop by and grab one if you are headed up to Huron to the State Fair this week. It runs from Wednesday, Sept 2nd - Monday, Sept 7th.

Next Monday is Labor Day so don't forget to stock up by Saturday if you need some extra books for the long weekend.

Welcome back to school no after school activities planned this week but we have some coming up you can register for see details below --

There will be two different groups. 3rd and 4th grade will be grouped together. 5th and 6th grade will be grouped together. The groups will be learning how to draw something easy and fun such as an animal, or a cartoon character. There are 4 different days for each group you can sign up for. Each student can sign-up for one day only. Each date has 8 slots open. Sign-ups are open.

*If someone wants join us that is in Junior or High School go ahead and sign them up with the 5th & 6th Grade Up.

3rd - 4th: September 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th.

New Movies and a Early Childhood picture book ready to be checked out!!

From all of us at the Lennox Community Library we send our condolences to Dolly’s family.

She didn’t just love children and reading she made it possible for so many to have an opportunity to start young loving books through Dolly’s Imagination Library program.

I speak from personal experience watching our daughter start at a young age loving books. Each month she would look forward to receiving a new book in the mail.

The Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has gifted 300,000,00+ books since its inception 31 years ago, with 3,000,000+ given to children each month in FIVE COUNTRIES. Her wildly successful literacy initiative is a tribute to her father, whose inability to read "probably kept him from fulfilling all his dreams."

Dolly is a true librarian, and we salute her; she lived the truth through her Imagination Library-- "you can never get enough books into the hands of enough children."

Rest in Peace, Dolly. You made a big difference to a lot of us.

Monday - Thursday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Lego build at the library see the sign up link below - *We did get ahead of ourselves and planned on for Monday which isn't a school day. Sorry. But we will still be holding it so if you have a kiddo interested and they can get here sign them up and send them down.

Tuesday - First day of school! Welcome back all! We hope everyone has a great year!
