Great news from Speaker Cameron Sexton! 💯

Dolly Parton’s commitment to early childhood reading has inspired millions in Tennessee. We are honoring her legacy by preserving the Imagination Library.

Today, Senator Bo Watson (TN-11) and I announced for the state to fund 100% of the imagination library. This follows investing an additional $4.5 billion in state dollars in k-12, and $200 million in TN Accelerating Literacy and Learning Corps which has lead TN to be ranked 18th in k-12 education and 4th for reading proficiency growth!

This evening I had the honor to present proclamations to the out going elected officials and watch the newly elected officials get sworn into office. Thank you to Billy Pickel, Loudon County Road Superintendent for asking me and Lt. Governor Randy McNally to be apart of his swearing in ceremony! We are very lucky to have great elected officials to serve the very best people in the State of Tennessee! Thank you District 21 for giving me this opportunity. 🇺🇸

I strongly believe good healthcare and supporting rural healthcare facilities are very important issues to Tennesseans. Reducing reimbursements rates are forcing many rural hospitals to close. Here is an interesting read from an attorney general’s opinion that I requested:

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti opined that lawmakers have some room to regulate healthcare billing and insurer reimbursement rates.

Do you think Dolly’s birthday (Jan. 19th), or 9/25 should be “Dolly Parton Day”?
