🚨 Great news! 🚨
Funds are on their way to our community! We are excited to share that our department has been awarded a new grant from the State Fire Marshal to help purchase needed equipment for our station. A huge thank you to Chief Chris Dillard for his hard work in securing these funds, and to our dedicated members who work tirelessly to keep us safe every day. We are so proud to serve this community!

Training for a Safer Community! 🚒💧

Last night, the Yadkin Valley Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department hosted a vital multi-company training event at Yadkin Valley Park. We were proud to drill alongside our neighbors from Patterson Fire / Rescue Department Inc. and Kings Creek Fire Department to sharpen our rural water supply tactics.

In our district, we don't always have a fire hydrant nearby. That’s why we train on "Rural Water Supply" operations. During this session, our combined crews practiced:

• Turbo Drafting: Sourcing water directly from the Yadkin River.
• Drop Tank Setups: Practicing the "portable pool" transitions that keep our engines fed.
• Nursing Operations: Seamlessly moving water between tankers to ensure no interruption in fire suppression.

Strengthening relationships across our departments is a top priority for Chief Dillard and our officers, so when the tone drops, we are all ready to provide the best possible protection to our community.

The future of YVFD is built on teamwork! Interested in joining the next generation of responders? Stop by the station on any Monday training night to see what we're all about!
