Communities In Schools of Caldwell County Communities In Schools of Caldwell County THE OPPORTUNITY:

Communities In Schools of Caldwell County joins hands in need with hands that can help.

The solution to student underachievement and dropout crisis requires a commitment from all community members—parents, social service providers, business and civic organizations, local government, and educators. Communities In Schools of Caldwell County connects community resources with students and their families at the school site. CIS coordinates needed services so young people will stay in scho

ol, learn necessary life skills, graduate from high school, and be prepared to enter the world of work or post-secondary education. Caldwell County is dependent on an educated workforce to ensure economic growth and development. THE CHALLENGE:

Too many young people are failing in our public schools and consequently leave school without the skills needed to succeed in life. In the 2007-2008, school year, 22,000 students dropped out of North Carolina schools; 237 of those were in Caldwell County.

85% of juveniles involved with the court system are school dropouts.
82% of prison inmates are school dropouts. Schools alone cannot solve the diverse problems facing today’s youth.

👟❤️ Big Hearts, Happy Feet! ❤️👟

We are sending a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing neighbors at Shoe Sensation in Granite Falls! 🌟

They generously donated 20 brand-new pairs of shoes and socks for our Communities In Schools of Caldwell County (CISCC) students in need.

For a child, a new pair of shoes is so much more than just footwear—it’s confidence to walk into the classroom, comfort on the playground, and the knowledge that their community truly cares about them. When basic needs are met, students can focus on what really matters: learning, growing, and thriving. 📚✨

To the incredible team at Shoe Sensation: thank you for stepping up, wrapping your arms around our kids, and proving once again how special Caldwell County is. You are helping our students put their best foot forward! 👟💙

Please join us in thanking Shoe Sensation in the comments, and be sure to show them some local love next time you need a new pair of kicks! 🛍️👇

Do you have 30 or 60 minutes once a week to change a student’s life? 🍎✨

At Communities In Schools of Caldwell County, we believe that every student deserves a champion—someone who shows up, listens, and helps them see their own potential. That’s where YOU come in!

We are looking for dedicated community members to become Mentors. You don’t need special teaching credentials or a background in education. All you need is a heart for students and the willingness to show up consistently.

Why become a CISCC Mentor?
✅ You provide a reliable, caring adult presence in a student’s life.
✅ You help boost confidence and academic focus.
✅ You become part of a local movement to help Caldwell County students stay in school and achieve in life.

"When we surround students with a community of support, they stay in school and achieve in life." That is the CISCC promise, and it starts with mentors like you.
