PRESS RELEASE:
Caldwell Rotary Club will dissolve on June 30, 2026. Like many membership organizations, our numbers have dwindled and we are finding it challenging to recruit sufficiently to sustain our program of work.

Since our club was chartered in 1982 it has made contributions through Rotary International for Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust Fund (C.A.R.T.), Polio Plus Polio Eradication Campaign, and The Rotary Foundation, as well as to many local organizations and scholarship programs.

*As part of our continued commitment to the community that it has been our privilege to serve for the last forty-four years, Caldwell Rotary Club is making contributions to the following from our funds distribution:

Caldwell Arts Council; Caldwell County DSS Foster Children’s Christmas Party; Caldwell County Sports Hall of Fame; CIS - Caldwell; Education Foundation of Caldwell County; The Foundation of CCC&TI; Lenoir Soup Kitchen; Shelter Home of the Foothills; Shepherds4Sheepdogs; Unity Park & Community Garden; Wine to Water; and Yokefellow of Caldwell County. The club is also donating bicycles for Lenoir Bicycle Festival.

From Rotarian Kay Crouch:

Folks,
I am so sorry to pass along the news to you that Jeff Joines passed away this afternoon, Wednesday February 25, at about 3:30 pm. Not only was he a charter member of our club but he also was a past president who held perfect attendance for many, many years. He was instrumental in the creation of the Caldwell County Sports Hall of Fame and, even though he was unable to be active in the last several years, he was a Rotarian until the end. His rattling of the blue bucket with the reminder to do "whatever the Good Lord lays on your heart" will resonate long past the last half and half drawing. And, coming so soon after we lost Bill Sproul, it really does seem like the end of an era.

(Please keep the Sproul and Joines families in your thoughts.)❤️

Caldwell County Rotary Club would like to make the following announcement:

Our members have voted unanimously to dissolve the club, effective June 30, 2026.

Our club was formed in 1982 and has the distinction of being the earliest Rotary meeting (6:44am). Our remaining members are currently considering other ways to serve in our community.

*We wish to THANK all who have served as members, our families, and all who work in our world/nation/community to make Rotary the amazing civic/service organization that it is!

During the spring of 1982 a group of Lenoir area residents began efforts to start a new Rotary Club in the community. These efforts became the beginning of Caldwell County Rotary Club.
