The grounds are free & open daily from dawn to dusk. A day at The Mount is an opportunity to experience the beauty and splendor of Wharton’s beloved country estate. Take a tour of the mansion Edith Wharton designed and where she wrote The House of Mirth and Ethan Frome. Explore the extensive grounds and gardens and view this year’s outdoor sculpture show. Stories come alive on the StoryWalk with South Berkshire Kids! Families are invited to gather at the top of the StoryWalk trail for a lively read-aloud, then grab a seat at the craft table for a hands-on activity or continue the adventure by exploring The Mount’s trails and colorful gardens.

🗓️ Join us this Tuesday, September 1 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am for a reading of Willow and the Storm, written by Ethan Tapper, illustrated by Frances Cannon.

Olga Dunn Dance Company Celebrates Edith Wharton with a dynamic performance on Sunday, August 30 | 5:00 - 6:00 pm

This site-responsive performance blends dynamic choreography, spoken word, and live cello music in a rich dialogue with the landscape. The program culminates in two evocative dances set to French songs, paying tribute to the final chapter of Wharton’s life. A reception with the artists will follow the performance. Join us!
