The Lenox Fire Department would like to recognize Justin Mercer who is a member of Central Fire Company. Justin on his own time and money has been making these face mask clips with his 3-D printer. These clips are used by nurses, doctors, EMS, etc to attach the straps that would typically wrap around the ears but due to extended use are causing pain and injury. The ear straps attach to this clip behind the head to allow a more comfortable application. Justin has sent numerous clips to Berkshire Medical Center and also the Boston Children's Hospital. Thank you Justin for doing your part to help during this crisis. Job well done !!!

Folks I believe this is an important message that County Ambulance is putting out. Please read below.

While we have been happy to see people heeding Governor Baker's request to say home and prevent spread of COVID-19, we have not been happy to see that some of you are not calling 9-1-1 when you are having medical emergencies.
We know that just because COVID-19 has dominated everyone's thoughts some of you are still having heart attacks, strokes and other medical emergencies.
We want to reinforce the fact that many medical emergencies are truly time sensitive and the longer you wait to call for help the more likely you are to suffer permanent disability or worse. Be assured that our crews, our vehicles and Berkshire Medical Center are taking extraordinary steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and it is safe to take ambulances and go to the emergency department when you have the need. Please do not suffer at home because of any fear of contracting infection leaving your residence.
Remember we are always here to help.

Haddad Toyota

The members of the Lenox Fire Department would like to thank the Haddad Group in Lenox on the Pittsfield Road for disinfecting our E-1, Car 1, and Ambulance on Friday. We truly appreciate their commitment to our community, and concern for the health and safety of our members.

Today we were able to help spray down an engine from the @Lenox Fire Department.

The BioPledge AntiMicrobial Protection spray will help keep kill 99.9% of harmful microbes and forms a protective shield that helps delay the growth of harmful microbes on interior services.

We are insanely grateful to the hard work our first responders do day in and day out. This is just a small way we can show our appreciation to them.

Update from Gov. Baker.

COVID-19 Update March 31, 2020

Today, the Baker-Polito Administration announced several updates related to the COVID-19 outbreak including extending the non-essential business emergency order and guidance for Executive Branch employees until May 4. The Department of Public Health’s Stay-At-Home Advisory remains in effect. The Administration also updated the “COVID-19 Essential Services” categories for businesses and other organizations that provide essential services and workforces related to COVID-19 that are permitted to operate brick and mortar facilities during the emergency.

DPH issued new guidance today around hotels, motels, inns, beds and breakfasts and other short-term residential rentals. Based on this new guidance, hotels, motels, and short-term rentals may only be used for efforts related to fighting COVID-19, like front line health workers or individuals, or for Massachusetts residents who have been otherwise displaced from their residences.

For full details, including the essential services extension order, list of categories of essential services, related FAQ and other guidance and announcements, see: www.mass.gov/covid-iwmp

TRI-TOWN HEALTH DEPARTMENT

March 26, 2020

Dear Hotel, Rental, and STR Owners,
As you know COVID-19 is HERE in the Berkshires. As all sectors are working in unison to combat this pandemic, we are issuing this important message to all of you. On March 24, 2020, the Federal Corona Virus Task Force issued a recommendation that anyone traveling from the New York City Metropolitan area should self-quarantine for at least 14 days. We are asking that if you receive any bookings or inquiries from any person from this area (or any other area deemed as a COVID-19 hotspot) we are requesting that you postpone any bookings until COVID-19 is defeated. If people are coming into our towns that are travelling from certain areas, we will require a 14-day quarantine of those people.

In addition, if a resident is found to test positive for COVID-19 who is residing at one of your properties, there will be a mandatory Isolation order issued by the local board of health and occupants will be unable to leave until they are medically cleared (which could be longer than 14 days) regardless of their commitment on your booking. More importantly, people traveling into the Berkshires from out of the area may be unaware and could further aid in the spread of the virus. In certain cases, the local board of health may require additional actions to prevent further spread that may include a comprehensive sanitizing and disinfection of the property at your expense.

We thank you for your cooperation during this trying time. We WILL defeat COVID-19 if we work in collaboration. Please visit the following link https://www.mass.gov/resource/information-on-the-outbreak-of-coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19 to access up to date information on COVID-19 as well as resources needed. PRACTICE social distancing, WASH hands with soap and water, FOLLOW all Commonwealth of Massachusetts Emergency orders, ISOLATE at home as much as possible, and STAY at home if you are sick.
Thank you for your timely and important cooperation on this matter.

Respectfully,
