Backdraft Bingo Update:

Due to lower than expected ticket sales and lack of availability of volunteers to run the event we have decided to cancel Backdraft bingo scheduled for April 11. Everyone who purchased a ticket will receive a full refund. We are working with the collection company to issue those refunds at this time. However, the credit card fee charged at purchase will have to be refunded separately. We are working on that plan now and will send an email to everyone who purchased tickets on how to receive the credit card fee refund. We are sorry for the inconvenience and
we thank you for continued support of our volunteer Fire Dept.

For Immediate Release:
March 2,2026

On March 1,2026 Lawrence County Fire Rescue units responded to multiple calls for service including two structure fires and a grass/brush fire.

The first structure fire was reported just after 5:00 PM. LCFR units were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the Iron City Fire District. First responding units arrived to find a 1-1.5 acre field on fire as well as a large barn on fire. Units from Iron City and Westpoint responded to the scene to extinguish the fire. The fire is believed to be the result of an unattended garbage burn pile.

Just before 7 PM LCFR units were dispatched to a second reported structure fire. Original dispatch remarks indicated a reported residential structure fire in the Crossroads Fire District. At the time of dispatch we were advised that one occupant was trying to exit the home. First arriving units found an approximately 4,000 square foot home with smoke visible from the exterior. The occupant of the home had safely exited the home through a window. LCFR units were able to contain and extinguish the fire with a coordinated fire interior attack while additional personnel on the scene assisted with the removal of family pets inside the home. The cause of the fire has not yet been released. Responding stations include Crossroads,Center Point, Leoma, and New Prospect.

It may feel like the perfect day to clean up the yard but we’re dry. We’ve had multiple grass/brush fires the last few days with 2 ongoing as I type. Remember, a permit is required. Those leaves and sticks can wait until things green up a little! Thank ya’ll!

*Attention Teachers and Parents*

We want to teach your children about Fire Safety!

According to data from the State of Tennessee Fire Marshal Office we see a 70% increase in fire related fatalities during the winter months verses other months of the year. Unfortunately we have experienced fire related fatalities right here in Lawrence County as recent as the past few years. One fire resulted in the loss of a small child’s life.

We love our children and we would like the opportunity to educate them on fire safety.
Help us prevent fire fatalities through education!

If you would like to give us the opportunity to schedule a fire safety class with your students please feel free to contact us through private message on this page.

Requests for class scheduling can also be sent via email to [email protected]
