Methodist Church on Main Street CA 1950’S
This wonderful photograph, taken by local photographer Henry St. Cyr, shows the former Methodist Church on Main Street in Leominster, photographed sometime in the mid-20th century. While the exact date is approximate, the image captures a building that was once an important part of the community's religious and social life.
Today, the church is gone, and the site is now an open parking area next to Bank of America. Like many historic buildings that once stood in downtown Leominster, it remains a reminder of how much our city has changed over the years.
Photographs like this help preserve memories of places that have disappeared from our landscape but remain part of our shared history.
Does anyone remember attending services here, participating in church events, or have family connections to this congregation? We'd love to hear your stories and memories.
As always, my books "Changing Times 1879 to 2025 remain available at the usual local locations. I will also be at the Summer Stroll this Saturday, where copies will be available for purchase, and I would be happy to personally sign your book.
If you live outside the Leominster area, I can also arrange to have a signed copy mailed directly to you.
Date disclaimer: The date associated with this photograph is believed to be accurate based on available records but should be considered approximate pending further research.
