Four Wichita County 4-H’ers traveled to Manhattan over the past weekend to participate in the State 4-H Livestock Sweepstakes. They were ( l to r) Reid Marcy, Gage Kreutzer, Zach Marcy, and Faith Marcy. They were accompanied by Steven Marcy. They did a great job and learned a lot. Here are their results:

Wichita County 4-H’ers, ages 10 to 13, spent a few days at Wild Adventures 4-H Camp at Camp Lakeside, Lake Scott. They participated in many activities including fishing, rafting, tie dying, swimming and a whole lot of fun. They made stomp rockets along with some hotdogs and s’mores over an open fire. They learned about drones, aerodynamics and helicopters as well. The performed skits and had team building activities along the way. They also had a lot of fun singing, dancing and making new friends!

Wichita County 4-H’ers, ages 7 to 9, spent a couple days at 4-H Camp at Camp Lakeside, Lake Scott. They participated in many activities including hiking, fishing, archery and rafting. They made tie dye shirts and stomp rockets along with some smores. They learned about drones and aerodynamics as well. They also had a lot of fun singing and making new friends!

"Barn in the USA" is the theme for the 2026 Wichita County Fair! A Fun and Patriotic theme as the U.S.A celebrates our Semiquencentennial. The County Fair kicks off on Wednesday, July 29th, and continues through Saturday, August 1st.
