Crews from Letts Fire were on scene with Westport VFD at a structure fire early this afternoon. Tanker 440, Tanker 444 and Ladder 452 assisted.

A privately owned skid steer was also utilized on scene.

Yesterday evening members of Letts Community Vol. Fire Dept and Westport Community Volunteer Fire Department performed a "walk-through" of the South Decatur Jr./Sr. High School. As our local schools grow and make improvements to the building we must stay up to date with those amazing changes! Thank you South Decatur Jr-Sr High School for allowing us to visit!

We would like to congratulate Chief Morrow on receiving the Patriot award!

Greensburg, IN: Chief Matthew Morrow, Letts Community Vol. Fire Dept., recognized by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a U.S. Department of War office.

Chief Marrow was nominated for the Patriot Award by Corporal (CPL) Sebastyn Muckerheide, who serves with the Indiana Army National Guard. CPL Muckerheide shares, "My employer is very patriotic, and always supports my National Guard duties, even when asked on short notice. My employer also continues pay for drill, AT, and other military duties."

Congratulations, Chief Morrow. Thank you for your continued support of our Guard & Reserve Service members.

About the Patriot Award: The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed. An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family.
