Going back to the working world can be a massive transition. One minute you’re moving at 2x speed packing coolers, timing a last-minute feed, cooking breakfast, getting everyone out the door, and switching from “mom-mode” to “professional mode”. But in the morning chaos, you look over and see your toddler in her own magical world. It’s a beautiful reminder to pause, breathe, and soak in the little things, even on the busiest days!

Being trapped on the couch nursing a newborn while your toddler still needs you brings a whole new level of mom guilt. But toddlers love having a job! Giving them a sense of purpose to keep them close, keeps them busy, and makes them feel so proud.

Here are some great ways your toddler can help while your baby nurses:

1. Grabbing a cloth for spit-up and burping.

2. Fetching a new diaper and some wipes for that next diaper change.

3. Tracking down the pacifier that was lost for the 24th time today.

4. Bringing the phone or TV remote for some entertainment.

Watching your first baby step into big sibling duties is so sweet to watch and makes your heart want to burst!
