We're still waiting on essential supplies, an LFD logo, and for the Leverett Elementary School students to give it a name. The class presented the science behind lithium-ion batteries, how they fail, and how different devices behave when the batteries inside them catch fire. We discussed everything from cell phones to e-bikes, electric cars, and power walls. Lessons learned will result in new and updated firefighting tactics brought back to Leverett.
