For the next couple of days, we will be in high fire danger conditions. The weather conditions pose a high risk for wildfires, so it’s important to be cautious and avoid creating sparks during outdoor activities. Watch out for emergency vehicles and do your part to prevent fires. 👨🏼‍🚒🚒

LEEKFEST IS BACK!!!!! Come join us May 4th from 11-7pm for fun and leeks galore happening in the parking lot. Details to follow as they progress.

Currently looking for food trucks and vendors, spots will be $50 per parking space. To be a food Vendor you must have at least one item with leeks. Non food vendors need to have one leek themed item as well.

If interested please comment and once the registration forms are available a member will be in touch.

There will be a corn hole tournament as well.

What does it costs to equip 1 interior firefighter?:

Volunteer fire departments typically operate on very limited funding. This makes it difficult to pay utilities, purchase new equipment and maintain old equipment. It currently takes $12,000 to equip just 1 firefighter.

How much does a fire truck cost?:

There are so many varieties of fire trucks out there for example a typical fire engine costs around $700,000 up to $1.3 million

How much are the classes to become a firefighter?:

There are 4 main that we require you to take which add up to roughly 188 hours and lasts over Roughly a 6 month period and costs around $360. As a firefighter the training never stops. Keep training and train some more because your life depends on it.

One of the biggest things volunteer fire departments struggle with is funding so when you see volunteer fire departments asking for donations it’s not because we are greedy, it’s because this is what it costs to protect our residents and communities

Our Volunteer firefighters selflessly give their time and dedication to the residents of the Lewis Run Borough and surrounding communities as well as working a full time job.

Are you an EMT or first responder in need of your required hours? We have classes set up for the upcoming months.....

Each class will run from 6-8pm, just show up at the Firehall located @ 48 Main St.

The Dec. 4th class will be Firefighter Rehab, all are welcomed to attend that need the hours.

It saddens us that our President and member of the Department family passed away suddenly on Wednesday. May she rest in peace. She served her department and community for 34 years. May you rest in peace Vickie.
