🎓 CLASS OF 2026: We are honored to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating high school students with Commencement Ceremonies on Friday, June 5, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center.

Cedar Cliff High School's ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. with Red Land High Schools ceremony following at 6:30 p.m. Parking is free and all are welcome to join us.

The District will also broadcast both ceremonies live. We hope this will allow family and friends who are unable to join us in Harrisburg to still be a part of this special day. On Friday, a link to the live streams will be posted on our website and shared via our social media sites.

The space under the Lincoln Memorial is roughly 50,000 square feet of soaring concrete columns built between 1914 and 1922 to anchor the marble monument into former Potomac marshland. Almost no one has ever seen it.

That changes on June 25, 2026, when the Lincoln Memorial Undercroft Experience opens as a 15,000 square foot museum tucked inside the foundation. Visitors will look out at the raw column grid through floor-to-ceiling glass, watch projections cast directly onto the concrete, and walk through exhibits on the memorial's construction and its role in civil rights history, from Marian Anderson's 1939 Easter concert to MLK's 1963 "I Have a Dream" speech.

Graffiti left by the original 1910s and 1920s construction workers is still on the walls. Small stalactites have formed in places. Limited tours ran in the 1970s and 80s before asbestos concerns shut them down.

The project cost about $69 million, with $26 million from NPS and more than $43 million in private donations, including a major 2016 gift from David Rubenstein. It's a flagship piece of the country's 250th anniversary celebrations.

Tickets are free with timed entry through Recreation.gov (a $1 service fee may apply), and opening day reportedly sold out fast. The main memorial stays free, open 24/7, and ticketless. NPS spokesperson Mike Litterst said most visitors will be "shocked to find out how much empty space there is below."
