Greenbrier County Emergency Ambulance

Greenbrier County Emergency Ambulance Emergency Medical Services Greenbrier County Emergency Ambulance Service proudly protects 18,000 people living in an area of 110 square miles.

We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. We also have a First Responder program with Lewisburg Fire Department. They are dispatched along with us certain calls in their area, ie; Chest Pain, Difficulty Breathing, Cardiac Arrests, etc. This has proved to be a very useful and valuable asset to the comm

unity. GCEAS was established in 1974. In the beginning we were all volunteer’s at that time. Over the years the business has grown to a paid staff that work 10, 12, and 24 hour shifts. We currently average between 300-350 runs per month.

We just want to take a few minutes and thank everyone that came together and supported the agencies that were involved at the scene in Williamsburg. A special thanks to Wendy’s, Burger King and McDonald’s for their generous contributions. Also for the individuals that brought soup and other items to all of the first responders. We weren’t able to get everyones names to thank you individually. Once again thank you for the support.

Facebook friends. Greenbrier County lost a great person to COVID back on November 13,2020. We are doing a memorial parade Sunday 6,2020 starting at the free parking of the fairgrounds and runs north the Bob Evans and back to the Fairgrounds. We would love to see the parking lots along the route full cars and trucks watching the parade.

PSA:
We would like to invite the public to our parade of apparatus in the honor/memory of Gary "Peanut" Bland. Parade will begin at 515 sharp on Sunday December 6th. Parade will start on the grounds of the Wv State fairgrounds free parking AEI Drive side. We will depart from there and go to Seneca trail north, through Lewisburg, up around Gateway boulevard loop and back down south to the free parking again. Eulogy and still video and last call to follow there. We hope can see the streets lined with cars with people to give Gary "Peanut " one last send off that he deserves. Peanut loved motorcycles and old cars/hotrods, wed love to see some lined up on the streets. Anyone who Peanut has grownup with, friends, been neighbors to, past coworkers, taught cpr to and especially those he helped on emergencies throughout his years as an emt.
****PLEASE FOLLOW ALL CDC/STATE GUIDELINES AND STAY IN YOUR CARS WHILE WATCHING.

Charles has been a staple in our agency for many years. We will definitely miss those visits for coffee and conversation. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
