Psst... Book Lovers! We saved you a seat at the Marshall County Book Bistro! What's on the Menu? Books!

The Bistro will be open for business this Friday from 6:00–7:30 PM online, and we'd love for you to join us!

This will be a fun, relaxed gathering where readers can share what they're currently reading, recommend favorite books, and discover new titles. There's no assigned reading—just great conversation, plenty of book recommendations, and a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow readers in our community.

Interested in joining us? Fill out the attached form, and we'll email you the Zoom link and meeting details Friday morning.

Whether you're in the middle of a page-turner, just finished a great book, or are looking for your next read, there's a seat waiting for you at our virtual table.

Ready for your first Summer Reading adventure. Let's unearth Earth's past! Check out EarthViewer and travel through billions of years of Earth's history! Watch continents move, explore ancient climates, and discover what our world looked like long before humans existed. As you explore, see if you can (1) find when Pangaea begins to break apart, (2) identify how your state or region moves across the globe through the different time periods, and (3) locate a major mass extinction event. (Please share what you find so we all can learn together). https://www.biointeractive.org/classroom-resources/earthviewer

Thanks to everyone who attended the Lewisburg Summer Reading Kick-Off Event! There are so many people who helped make this event a success, and we truly appreciate all of your support.

A special thank you to the Latham's for the beautiful artistry they brought to the community. We also want to thank Abrakadabra Events, our newest addition, for providing us with an AMAZING face-painter.

Thanks to the Health Department for donating chips and talking to the children about dental hygiene and we appreciate the dairy farmers for educating the community on the importance of milk.

A big shout out to Keith Hollingsworth for jumping in with the last-minute assist! And last but definitely not least, thank you to all the parents and caregivers who invest their time and energy into bringing your little ones to library programs and to use our services. You are the real MVPs of summer reading!

Did you know music can boost literacy? Music activates the parts of the brain that handle sounds and language, helping children recognize sound patterns that make understanding words and learning to read easier. Mark Seymour is excited be a part of our programming and has sent a promotional video to show you what his show is about.

He will be at Chapel Hill on Tuesday, June 2 at 10 a.m. and in Lewisburg at 2 p.m. We hope you’ll join us so we can move and groove together!

Join us tomorrow for Lewisburg's Summer Reading Event! Doors will open at 10:00 a.m., and our artists will begin working with patrons at 11:00 a.m. The Latham's will be providing balloon twisting and caricature art, while David Fuentes from Abrakadabra Events will be offering face painting. District 7 Commissioner Keith Hollingsworth has generously volunteered to help the library by grilling hot dogs and hamburgers and during the event, families can enjoy craft stations, photo booths, and a movie playing in the craft room. We'll also be joined by representatives from the Department of Health and local dairy farmers, who will be sharing some information. We are excited to kick off another summer of reading with a day full of fun. We hope to see you there!
