Last Saturday, we were honored to welcome volunteers from WVSOM as part of United Way’s Day of Giving.
Their team spent the day making a lasting impact in more ways than one. They organized and cleaned our donation storage area, making it easier for our staff to quickly access essential items for the children, youth, and families we serve. They also assembled our new patio furniture, creating a welcoming outdoor space where staff can enjoy lunch, collaborate with one another, or meet with clients in a comfortable setting.
Perhaps the most meaningful part of the day was helping a young family move into their very first apartment. What may have seemed like a few hours of lifting boxes and furniture represented a fresh start and a new chapter for a family building a foundation for their future.
We are incredibly grateful to the WVSOM volunteers for generously sharing their time, energy, and compassion, and to United Way for making the Day of Giving possible. Community partnerships like these remind us that service comes in many forms, and that even behind-the-scenes work can create opportunities, restore hope, and change lives.
Thank you for helping us continue our mission of strengthening children, families, and communities. We couldn’t do it without partners like you.
