Today, we wear denim in solidarity with survivors everywhere. 💙

Denim Day is a national movement dedicated to raising awareness about sexual assault and standing with survivors.

👖 The story behind Denim Day began after a court ruling in 1999 that overturned a sexual assault conviction based on the victim’s clothing. The response sparked a worldwide movement to confront harmful myths and stand with survivors.

You are not alone. You are believed. You are supported.

Tomorrow is Denim Day 👖

The big question - what is that?

Denim Day started as a response to a court case where victim-blaming was based on what a survivor was wearing. People wore denim in protest, and it’s now grown into a global day of solidarity with survivors of sexual assault and a reminder that what someone wears is never consent.

At Family Refuge Center, we stand with survivors every day! 💙

So grab your favorite jeans and join us in supporting survivors, challenging myths, and continuing the conversation.
