Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office Announces Increased DUI Enforcement Ahead of Labor Day
As Labor Day approaches and summer comes to an end, the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office is reminding motorists that impaired driving is not only illegal, but extremely dangerous.
Beginning August 19 and continuing through September 7, law enforcement officers will increase DUI enforcement patrols throughout Nez Perce County. Deputies will specifically target drivers operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.
The Labor Day holiday should be a time for celebration—not tragedy. Drivers who plan to drink are encouraged to make arrangements ahead of time for a safe and sober ride. Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare or taxi service, or make other plans to ensure you never get behind the wheel while impaired.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Labor Day holiday weekend consistently ranks among the busiest and deadliest holidays on U.S. roads, with impaired driving contributing to many fatal crashes.
The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to do their part to keep local roads safe.
Celebrate responsibly. Plan ahead. Drive sober.
