Grantmasters is currently accepting customers for the upcoming $324 million FEMA SAFER Grant Program.

The application period will be open from May 23rd thru July 3rd.

The Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER) was created to provide funding directly to career and volunteer fire departments to help them increase or maintain the number of trained, "front line" firefighters available in their communities.

Grant funds can be used to recruit an/or retain volunteer firefighters and/or hire career firefighters to allow compliance with NFPA 1710 & 1720.

Congratulations to the 88 New York State departments who just received awards through the Governors Volunteer Fire Infrastructure & Response Equipment Grant Program (V-FIRE)

The Governor announced that "almost 600" departments applied and that they intend to offer this program again in the upcoming year.

The Grantmasters team wonders why the other 1,300 volunteer departments in the state did not apply.

Great news yesterday S. 870, the “Fire Grants and Safety Act of 2023,” which authorizes appropriations for the United States Fire Administration and firefighter assistance grant programs was signed into law by President Biden. This extends the program through fiscal year 2028.
