Former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Public Affairs Specialist Hank Heusinkveld spent 14 months reporting on the Corps' efforts to help rebuild Afghanistan from October of 2009 to December of 2010. Join him as he gives a pictorial presentation that shows how the Corps hired Afghans to rebuild their country and to mentor Afghan engineers to rebuild their badly damaged infrastructure left untouched after years of fighting. Hank will be sharing his story in the Library Event Space, Tuesday, June 9 at 5:30 PM.

You can join the VFW Auxiliary at just 16 years old.

Many people assume the Auxiliary is only for spouses of veterans — but eligibility is much broader than most realize.

You may be eligible through a:

⭐ Parent
⭐ Grandparent
⭐ Spouse
⭐ Child
⭐ Grandchild
⭐ Brother or Sister

of a veteran who served overseas in a qualifying location.

Another fact worth sharing:

Many grandparents in Idaho are helping raise grandchildren in their homes — and many military families know what that support looks like firsthand.

The VFW Auxiliary is about veterans, families, and the generations who stand beside them.

If military service is part of your family story… there’s a good chance you may belong here too.
