🍎 Congratulations to Laura Dominy, the Lewiston School District’s 2026–2027 Elementary Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Dominy has dedicated more than 30 years to educating and supporting students and families in our community. As a teacher at Centennial Elementary, she is known for seeing the whole child, advocating for her students, and helping them discover what they are capable of achieving.

Parents describe her as a “true anchor” for their families and “the educator every parent hopes for and the advocate every child deserves.”

Thank you, Mrs. Dominy, for more than three decades of dedication, compassion, and advocacy. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor!

Last week, Lewiston School District staff had the opportunity to learn from nationally recognized educator and author Brian Mendler during an engaging professional learning session.

Mendler shared practical strategies for understanding student behavior, building meaningful relationships, increasing engagement, and creating positive learning environments. Our staff gained new ideas and tools they can put into practice as they continue to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students.

We are grateful for opportunities to learn, grow, and strengthen the work we do for students every day.

The HUB is here to support our students and families by providing free food and clothing to Lewiston families who need a little extra support.

Molly joins McGhee Elementary as a 4th Grade Teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Middle School Mathematics from Lewis-Clark State College.

Molly has most recently worked as a 4th grade teacher with the Orofino School District. We’re excited to welcome Molly to the Lewiston School District and look forward to the impact she’ll make at McGhee!

Cameron joins Sacajawea Middle School as an English/Language Arts Teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a major in English from Northwest Nazarene University and his Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Eastern Washington University.

Cameron has most recently worked as a substitute teacher with the Lewiston School District, and we’re excited to welcome him into his new role at Sacajawea!

Diana is joining McSorley Elementary as a Special Education Teacher. Most recently, Diana worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant with the Clarkston School District.

Welcome, Emmy Shepherd!

We’re excited to welcome Emmy Shepherd to her new role as Interim Elementary Principal at Centennial Elementary!

Emmy has been a valued member of the Lewiston School District, most recently serving as an Elementary Counselor at Webster Elementary. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Communications from Lewis-Clark State College and her Master of Arts in Social Work and Communications from Boise State University. She is currently part of the Region 2 Cohort for Educational Leadership at the University of Idaho.

We’re excited to see Emmy bring her experience, dedication, and passion for students to Centennial Elementary in this new role!
