Looking for something to do this summer? Starting on June 1st and continuing every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday join us in the teen lounge from 3:30 to 5:30pm for video games.

Come challenge your friends or come to hang out! The PS4 is free for all teens, and you’ll have a selection of racing, action, or sports games!

Join on Lewiston Public Library on June 6th at 10AM for Saturday Storytime in the Children’s Department.

Recommended for children ages 2 – 6 years old and their caregivers. Siblings are always welcome.

Enjoy an interactive storytime celebrating our BookReach Volunteer Reading Program. Join us for some fun with books, songs, and body movement while building early literacy skills.

The BookReach Volunteer Reading Program is community collaboration of volunteer readers who deliver Storytime to children in licensed family childcare homes and centers. Our mission is to raise a community of readers by enriching the lives of young children through the pleasure of reading. BookReach began in the fall of 1997 with a grant from L.L.Bean and is now funded by the Lewiston and Auburn Public Libraries.

Saturday, 6/27 at 10:30am: Create a Beach Mosaic Keepsake with your family!

Families with children between the ages of birth-16 will be able to create their own beach mosaic with shells and sea glass within a shadow box.

All materials will be provided for this relaxing family-friendly Summer Reading program, but supplies are limited. First come, first served.

We will be hosting Northern Stars Planetarium in Callahan Hall on Wednesday, June 24th at 5:30PM for ages 6 – 12, siblings welcome.

Come and see the planets and dwarf planets, both as seen in the night sky and as visited by space probes in the fully equipped inflatable star theater! Various constellations will be pointed out throughout the presentation.

Registration is required as there are only 45 available spots. To register please contact the Children’s Department at 513-3133 or [email protected].

If all of the spots are filled you may request to be put on the waiting list.

Participation in this event counts towards the library Summer Reading program so don’t forget to log it on your bookmark.

Join us on Thursday, June 18th between 3:00 and 4:00pm for teen crafting circle! Our crafting circles will be repeated on July 2nd and 23rd as well as on August 20th. The teen crafting circle will offer teens button making, bracelet making, and coloring pages for them to work on and relax!

Teens, looking for something to do during the summer? Join us throughout the summer starting June 4th between 3:30pm and 5:30pm for our drop-in Magic: the Gathering nights located on the 2nd floor IDEA Lab.

Come to engage in all things Magic: the Gathering, from trading with other people to playing matches against others. Bring a friend and play against one another or other challengers. New players will be able to receive guidance on how to play and get a chance to receive their very own deck to keep and take home. The Magic: the Gathering club welcomes players of all skill levels. Located on the 2nd floor in the IDEA Lab from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Dates are June 4th and 11th, July 9th and 23rd, and August 6th and 13th.

Are you a crafter? Bring your current project to the library for Maker Monday on June 1st between 4 and 6:30pm to craft alongside your fellow makers!

This maker meet up has been extended to meeting twice per month, occurring every first & third Monday that the library is open in LPL’s Couture Room. Take this opportunity to socialize with fellow crafters and learn from each other.

Ages 18 and up. Beginners welcome.

Join us at 5:30pm on June 10th for a presentation by Dr. Katie Burns, an ecologist and science communicator based in Midcoast Maine. We’ll learn about Maine’s native pollinators and plant life, plus enjoy some Q&A with a local expert.
