Last night, we conducted our monthly training session, which focused on pump operations. We connected to a hydrant, extracted water from a drop tank, and simulated pumping water from a creek. We concluded the evening with a mock emergency scene setup at a local business.

Good afternoon,

We can’t thank St. Paul’s Church enough for opening their doors to the public as a storm shelter last night, if needed. We have been in contact with the school and will continue discussions about using that building; however, with their upcoming projects, it will not be available during peak storm season.

We reached out to St. Paul’s Church to ask if we could use their building as a storm shelter for residents in need, and they have graciously agreed. Again, thank you so much to Pastor Tami and the entire team for allowing the public to use the basement as a storm shelter.

We understand it is not within walking distance for everyone, but we are grateful to have a safe place available if needed.

We apologize to anyone who planned to use the elementary school as a storm shelter tonight. Unfortunately, it will not be available. Please make arrangements to use an alternative shelter location if needed.

Our storm spotting team is prepared and will be focused on monitoring conditions and responding as necessary throughout the evening. Stay safe!!
