⚠️FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE⚠️

Officers from the Mifflin County DUI Task Force which are comprised of the Granville Township Police Department, Mifflin County Regional Police Department, Lewistown Police Department and Armagh Township Police Department will be conducting high visibility DUI patrols throughout areas in Mifflin County which will run through March 17th for the St. Patrick’s Holliday.

Starting March 17, 2025, and running through April 27, 2025, the Granville Township Police Department, Mifflin County Regional Police Department, Lewistown Police Department, Armagh Township Police Department and 300 other municipal police agencies along with the Pennsylvania State Police to conduct a targeted aggressive-driving enforcement.

The goal of targeted enforcement is to reduce the number of aggressive driving related crashes, injuries, and deaths on roadways throughout the state. Any aggressive driver stopped by police will receive a citation.

The enforcement wave will focus on distracted driving, speeding and work zone awareness. Motorists exhibiting other unsafe behaviors such as driving too fast for conditions, following too closely, or other aggressive actions will also be cited.

The enforcement is part of Pennsylvania’s Highway Safety Program and is funded by part of PennDOT’s investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

With the holiday season approaching, we want everyone in our community to enjoy the holidays and be responsible.

The Mifflin County DUl Task Force has teamed up with PennDOT, National Highway Safety Administration and the PA DUl Association in an effort to reduce impaired driving.

Officers from the Granville Township Police Department, Mifflin County Regional Police Department, Lewistown Police Department and Armagh Township Police Department will be out in full force starting Wednesday November 27th through the end of December assigned to high visibility enforcement patrols looking for impaired drivers, unbelted drivers and aggressive drivers.

Please have a designated driver! Use a ride Share! Most of all, be safe and responsible!

⚠️UPDATE: Russell has been located⚠️

The Granville Township Police Department is attempting to locate a missing Juvenile, Jasmine Russell. Russell was last seen leaving her residence in the Strodes Mills area of Granville Township around 1550 hours on 11/23/2024. Russell is 5’6” tall and approximately 140 lbs. Russell was last seen wearing the pictured sweatshirt, light pink jeans and light blue Adidas sneakers.

On Saturday morning, November 16, 2024, at 7:16 a.m., a stray bullet hit a house on Cliffside Drive. The bullet came from the east and went west. If you know anything about who might have fired a rifle early that morning, please call the Granville Township Police Department at 717-953-9713.
