Our hearts go out to paramedic Shawn Peters and family. Shawn's father Don passed away yesterday afternoon following a long illness. Please keep the Peters family in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn this loss to their family.

Our deepest sympathies to the Lyter family at the loss of Ron Lyter earlier this week. Ron was a lifelong supporter of the fire service, earning life membership in several departments and leading his son Kody to serve as well. Kody also serves our organization as our incredibly valuable mechanic. Kody, the staff and leadership of the organization sends all the best to you and your family during this difficult time. Your dad was a great man.

With a heavy heart and profound sadness, we extend our deepest condolences to the Fleegal family after the tragic passing of Stacey. She was a friend to many of our members and her husband Brian, has been a member of our organization and dear friend of ours, for many years. May the family find strength and comfort in each other and in the immense love of this community during this incredibly difficult time. In July, Standard Steel invited Fame EMS, Burnham and Reedsville Fire Companies to participate in a training exercise in the facility's Melt Shop. Participants were able to witness the extraction of a simulated patient from the elevated crane walkway using the rescue basket. Crews were able to provide feedback to safety crews during a debriefing meeting to further improve the already excellent plan in place. Thank you to Standard Steel for involving your outside emergency crews in this training exercise!

Thank you once again to our sister companies, Milroy EMS, and Mcveytown EMS for assisting with rehab services on scene at the devastating Valley Street fire overnight. Also, thank you to our neighbors in Juniata County for providing additional 911 standby and coverage while crews worked on scene. These situations truly put a strain on resources, but the resolve and dedication of these organizations continue to weather the storm alongside us. We're forever grateful for our mutual aid partnerships! As always, are thoughts are with those who have been affected by this tragic event.

Happy 4th of July! 250 years of freedom in this great nation is an unbelievable accomplishment. Those 250 years did not come without sacrifice, so let's never forget to be thankful for those who have made this freedom possible!
