For National CPR & AED Awareness Week, do you know how to help a cardiac arrest victim?

For 9-1-1 dispatchers at City of Roanoke, Texas Police Department and across Denton County, location is the most crucial detail! If an emergency happens at home, giving the dispatcher your address will help them mark your exact location and send responders as quickly as possible. Follow these safety tips to save time and save lives:

✅Make sure everyone in your home knows the full address, especially kids and seniors
✅Display your street address number in spots clearly visible from the roadway — the mailbox, the curb and directly on your home are good options to help responders find the right place
✅State your address at the start of the 9-1-1 call, then explain your emergency afterward

Accidentally calling 9-1-1 is a common mistake for children and adults. If this happens to you, you won't get in trouble — just stay on the call and let the dispatcher know there's no emergency! If you hang up right away, the dispatcher doesn't know whether you need help or not.
