Just because school is over doesn't mean the learning has to stop! The Library has specialty kits for children focused on STEM. Learn about astronomy, force and motion, the human body, nature, and more. These kits check out for a one-week period and there is a limit of one per library card.

Dragon Nation Families,

I wanted to share some information with you about some recent calendar updates:

1. Today, March 5th is a regular school day-4:35 is the end of the school day. Monday, March 8th is a student Holiday.
Students will return to school on Tuesday, March 9th.
2. Friday, March 12th is an early release day and the end of the 3rd nine weeks.
3. The fourth 9 weeks will begin on Monday, March 22nd.

It is very important for you to please check your child’s grades. We have a large number of students that are in jeopardy of being retained due to missing assignments.

On December 7, 1941, this Navy dispatch announced the attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, by the Japanese navy. This was the first official word that reached the rest of the United States announcing the attack. The dispatch was sent by the Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific (CINCPAC) to all major Navy commands and fleet units.

This specific copy was received by the Boston Naval Yard. It was received at the Squantum Naval Reserve Aviation Base from the First Naval District, and is now part of the holdings of the National Archives at Boston.

The next day, President Franklin Roosevelt gave his famous "Day of Infamy" speech and Congress declared war on Japan.
