WFCP will help each child recognize the importance of proper nutrition and health habits. The children will learn fundamental physical skills and the importance of sportsmanlike conduct. WFCP will foster growth in interpersonal skills that will enable the children to develop healthy relationships with family, peers and community. WFCP will provide opportunities for each child to develop self confidence, moral character and self-discipline in order that they may strive to achieve their full potential.

Did you know that many youth are missing the mark when it comes to essential nutrition?

According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025, there are significant gaps between recommended and current intakes for children, particularly with:

- Whole Grains: These are consumed below recommended levels even by very young children.
- Seafood: This protein subgroup, which provides beneficial fatty acids, is consumed far below the recommended range.

Knowing what to feed children—and getting them to actually eat it—is an age-old challenge, but good habits start early. Let's help each other learn more about how to meet our goal of setting wellness practices for a lifetime of good health!
