🔥 EXTREME FIRE DANGER FORECAST FOR DENTON COUNTY 🔥

Denton County is forecast to experience EXTREME fire danger on Thursday, August 13.

Dry vegetation, hot temperatures, and unfavorable fire-weather conditions can allow even a small spark to quickly become a fast-moving wildfire. Residents are urged to use extreme caution with any activity that could create a spark or open flame.

Avoid outdoor burning, properly dispose of smoking materials, secure trailer chains, and use extra caution with welding, grinding, mowing, and other equipment that can produce sparks.

One spark is all it takes. Help us protect Denton County.

🔥 WEDNESDAY ON LEWISVILLE: WEEKEND PREP STARTS NOW. 🔥

The lake is basically bathwater, the air fryer has been set to Texas, and Mother Nature has apparently misplaced the OFF switch. 🌡️😂 We’re looking at 102° today with a 106° heat index, 85° water, and south winds 10–15 mph, gusting to 20. Lake level is 520.75 ft. Hydrate like it’s your side hustle and get your lake time EARLY.

🚤 BOATERS: That south wind has some teeth today. Gusts to 20 can turn open water choppy fast, especially later in the day. Secure the floaties, watch your passengers, and maybe don’t launch Aunt Linda off the tube at Mach Jesus.

🛶 PADDLERS: Early water wins today. Wind builds to 10–15 with gusts to 20, so know your route and your limits.

🌅 TONIGHT: Sunset Sips at 7 PM! FREE. BYO sips, sunset views, boards, beats & beach vibes.

🌙 FRI + SAT: Twilight Paddles. Trade triple-digit pavement for sunset, wildlife and a little after-dark river magic.

🏝️ SATURDAY: We’re headed to Lake Texoma for our Island Excursion, paddling out for lunch on the island. This one is pure summer escape.

🎣 FISHERMEN: 85° water means summer patterns are fully cooked. Think early, deeper structure and shade. The fish have enough sense not to hang around in the afternoon sun. Follow their example.

🛵 JET SKIERS: A 20 mph gust is not Mother Nature challenging you to unlock a new achievement. Please stop using anchored boats as slalom markers. Nobody ordered the aquatic Fast & Furious sequel. 😂

🔥 RECOVERY MONDAY, LAKE LEWISVILLE! The weekend may be over, but apparently somebody forgot to turn the thermostat down. We’re cooking at 100° with a 104° heat index, the lake is bathtub-deluxe at 85°, and south winds are around 10 MPH with gusts to 20. Lake level is 521.91 FT, just 0.09 FT below conservation pool. Hydrate like you have plans tomorrow. 😎🌊

🚤 BOATERS: Beautiful day to burn some fuel, but those 20 MPH gusts can turn open water choppy fast. Secure the floaties, secure your people, and maybe secure that hat before Lewisville claims another sacrifice.

🛶 PADDLERS: Gorgeous paddle weather if you respect the wind. S winds around 10, gusting 20, so plan your route accordingly and don’t let the easy outbound ride trick you into purchasing a one-way ticket to Oklahoma. PFDs on, hydration packed, radar checked.

🎣 FISHERMEN: Early and late are your friends. Midday is less “peaceful day of fishing” and more “voluntary air-fryer setting.” Find shade, work structure, drink water, and remember the fish are allowed to ignore you. It’s in their contract.

💦 RENTAL JET SKIERS: Today’s mission is simple: return the machine with the same number of pieces it had when you rented it. A 20 MPH gust is not Mother Nature challenging you to unlock the secret fourth throttle position. Also, the NO WAKE buoys are instructions, not decorative lake confetti. 😂

🌴 RECOVERY MONDAY means easy lake life. Hydrate, respect the gusts, keep an eye on the radar, and save some horsepower for the rest of the week.
