Great training day with Straughn Volunteer Fire Department focusing on advanced tanker operations and rural water supply. From tanker to engine pumping to dump tank operations, our members had the opportunity to sharpen critical skills, learn each other’s apparatus, and strengthen mutual aid coordination.

🚒 Mutual Aid Response on I-70 🚒

Yesterday, Lewisville Volunteer Fire Department assisted New Lisbon and Straughn Fire Departments with a fire incident on I-70.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a semi-truck had lost a set of tires from the eastbound lanes. The detached tires had come to rest along westbound emergency lane, where they had caught fire.

Fortunately, the tires did not strike any vehicles and no injuries were reported. Given the amount of traffic on I-70, this situation had the potential to become much more serious. Thanks to the quick response and teamwork of all agencies involved, the fire was quickly extinguished and the scene was made safe.

Earlier today, Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a two vehicle crash on State Road 3 involving minor injuries.

⚠️ Lewisville Fire Department and Straughn Fire Department was toned out to an electrical hazard in the Lewisville area. Thanks to members of the community quickly contacting the Henry County Dispatch Center, the volunteers were able to arrive on scene quickly and have IMPA notified immediately.

A huge thank you to our volunteer firefighters who responded promptly and stood by at station while crews addressed the situation. We’d also like to also thank Straughn Volunteer Fire Department, and IMPA for their fast response and assistance.

Strong communities and teamwork make all the difference. 🚒
