Lewisville Fire Department

Lewisville Fire Department We began as a community-based volunteer fire department in 1951, serving the areas around Lewisville, NC.

We have evolved into a combination volunteer/career department, which still serves our Lewisville community and beyond!

Strengthening partnerships. Enhancing readiness.

Over the past several weeks, Lewisville Fire Department has been working alongside King and Kernersville Fire Departments to strengthen our regional water rescue capabilities.

Last week marked our first multi-day "show and tell" event, where team members visited each department's stations to review rescue equipment, specialized resources, and deployment capabilities. Understanding each team's assets and procedures helps ensure a seamless response when called upon to serve together.

The partnership also took an important step forward by scheduling our first joint water rescue training exercise for August.

These collaborative efforts not only benefit our local communities but also strengthen our ability to support disaster response operations across North Carolina and beyond when deployments are needed. Together, we are building stronger teams, stronger partnerships, and safer communities.

Recently, Lewisville Fire Department participated in a regional flood deployment exercise designed to simulate real-world disaster response operations.

The training provided an opportunity to “rehearse” deployment procedures and strengthen coordination with multiple state and local partners, including other fire departments, NC Wildlife, NC Marine Patrol swift water rescue teams, and NC Emergency Management.

Scenarios included both daytime and nighttime search operations, boat handling in fast-moving and rough water conditions, and victim recovery in challenging currents. These realistic evolutions helped crews sharpen technical skills while reinforcing interagency communication and coordination under high-stress conditions.

Exercises like this are critical to ensuring we are prepared to respond quickly, safely, and effectively when real flooding emergencies occur in our communities.

🇺🇸 Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the sacrifice, courage, and dedication of our fallen heroes. Their legacy lives on through the freedoms we enjoy and the communities we proudly serve.

Please join us in taking a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

A huge thank you to Jonathan and the team for stepping up in a big way to help the Lewisville Fire Department secure and transport vehicles for training.

Behind every realistic training scenario are community partners willing to lend a hand, and this group has come through for our department when we’ve needed support.

We appreciate businesses that invest in public safety and help our firefighters train for the real-world situations they may face in our community.

We appreciate you! 👏🚒

Last week, we had some very special visitors at the Fire Department when students from stopped by for a tour! 🚒

They got a firsthand look at the firefighter lifestyle by touring the dorms, offices, kitchen, and day room where our crews live and work while on shift.

But the real excitement started when they learned all about fire safety:
🔥 What to do if there’s ever a fire at home
🔥 The importance of “Stop, Drop & Roll” if clothes catch fire
🔥 How firefighters gear up for emergencies
🔥 The different types of fire trucks and what each one does
🔥 How quickly firefighters have to respond when an alarm sounds

Students even got to:
👩‍🚒 Touch real firefighter gear
🎭 Hear what firefighters sound like while wearing air masks
🚨 Listen to the station alarm that signals an emergency call

We loved seeing so many curious questions, brave smiles, and future heroes in the making! ❤️🚒
